Carbon County Women in Business Presents “Grateful Leadership and the Power of Acknowledgment”

Carbon County – June 25, 2018– Calling  ALL business professionals in Carbon County… Please join the Carbon County Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (CCEDC) on Thursday, July 12th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at Dean Anthony’s in Jim Thorpe for a very special luncheon presentation called: “Grateful Leadership and the Power of Acknowledgment to Engage, Motivate & Inspire” by Judith W. Umlas. This special event is presented by Carbon County Women in Business.

Effective leaders must find ways to enhance people’s level of engagement, commitment and support. Engaged employees work with passion and feel connected and loyal to their organization with higher productivity, sales, and results. Non-engagement in the workplace results in poor performance, limited productivity, and an erosion of the bottom line. Grateful leaders can learn to acknowledge people in an authentic, heartfelt manner, an ability which they will come away with from this talk through interactive exercises and shared stories.

Judith W. Umlas is Sr. Vice President, author and trainer at International Institute for Learning, Inc. (IIL), a global corporate training company (www.iil.com). She is the publisher of IIL Publishing, New York. She is also the author of the ground-breaking book, The Power of Acknowledgment ©2006, IIL Publishing, New York, which has been credited with changing workplaces and lives by making use of the 7 Principles of Acknowledgment she developed. Her book on Grateful Leadership, Using the Power of Acknowledgment to Engage All Your People and Achieve Superior Results was published by McGraw-Hill Professional in association with IIL in early 2013 and You’re Totally Awesome! The Power of Acknowledgment for Kids was published in late 2013 by IIL Publishing. She is also the founder of the Center for Grateful Leadership(www.gratefulleadership.com), established in 2016 – a global community of people dedicated to bringing this initiative to their workplaces and sharing it with others.

Judith delivers inspiring, motivational and transformational keynote addresses on Grateful Leadership and The Power of Acknowledgment all over the world. She also leads webinars and teaches full day virtual and traditional courses to organizations such as Volvo, the U.S. Army, Prudential, JMP Engineering, the World Bank, Fannie Mae, IBM, AT&T, Google, Amway, the New York Police Department and many others. She has trained tens of thousands of people through her leading edge, highly interactive and engaging courses and keynotes – with outstanding and long-lasting results. Grateful Leadership and The Power of Acknowledgment are Judith’s passion, mission and purpose!

Carbon County Women in Business Co-Chairs, Shelley J. Hunt of Jim Thorpe Massage & Wellness Studio and Dina Tulli Davis of JumpSpark Creative Group, share, “Great leadership inspires, motivates, accomplishes goals, and creates positive change for the individuals involved as well as for a project, company or community as a whole. Judith Umlas brings us a wealth of knowledge on the subject of Leadership. We are excited to have her share her experiences, skills and strategies for grateful leadership with the Women in Business Group and any business professional, who is interested in becoming a better leader.”

Judith says, “I travel the world training people in the Grateful Leadership initiative. There is a real hunger for the state of ‘workplace wellbeing’ that is created when people use this model to create a climate of appreciation in their businesses, their communities and yes, in their families. I am especially gratified to bring this message to Carbon County Women in Business, as my husband and I have a weekend home in Jim Thorpe! So it’s great to share the message at home!”

The Carbon County Women in Business Group is sponsored by the Carbon Chamber & Economic Development Corporation, the Greater Lehigh Valley Chamber of Commerce, First Northern Bank & Trust and Andreas Plumbing Heating & Air Conditioning. This event is also sponsored by Lowe’s.
