September 2020 Acrostic

by Harry Waldron

During September, we celebrate Labor Day in the USA. However, worldwide, most other nations also honor their workers on different days of the year. Teams are working harder than ever to meet the challenges of 2020.
Grateful Leadership concepts and encouragement of the workforce are needed more than ever. Employees receive paychecks. Often the older classical management style believes “that is enough.” Also, these old school managers may not want to appear too lenient, given the business and economic pressures of today.

However, affirmed & appreciated teamwork is a hallmark of the CGL initiative. As 2020 has been a difficult & challenging year, uplifting your team creates synergy, loyalty, and improved success. Proverbially, one person might be able to move a sofa – but that job becomes much easier when two or more individuals work together kindly and professionally in unity.

Teams achieve unity & synergy when guided by grateful leadership practices

Help struggling workers in 2020 by sharing acknowledgment & gratitude

Always praise publicly & counsel struggling workers privately in a kind manner

New leadership skills are required to bind us together in socially distant times

Keep your leadership & professional standards set at the highest level each day

Your grateful leadership actions will motivate employees & create loyalty

Often the timing & setting are key for grateful leadership to be most effective

Use creative techniques to share kind words in our new virtural workplace

Take time to learn the art of grateful leadership thru podcasts & webinars

Encourage employees to stretch their skill sets & grow professionally

Allow twice as much time to listening than talking to learn more about others

Make work meaningful, motivating & rewarding – it adds up to project success
